m-FC is a selective media used for the detection and enumeration of fecal coliforms in ground, surface, recreational, and waste waters using the membrane filtration technique. M-FC media is designed to inhibit the growth of non-fecal coliform bacteria. M-FC is incubated for 24 hours at 44-45 oC.
Fecal coliforms grow as dark blue colonies. Other organisms produce colonies which may vary from pale orange to cream to grey. Selective for fecal coliforms.
