Hach helps one of largest drinking water provider in SEA get assurance for water quality nation regulation in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

This water plant in Vietnam is built to supply clean water for people in the districts of Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh, Tan Binh, Tan Phu, Binh Tan and district 12 in Ho Chi Minh City. This plant is equipped with 180 continuous sand filters which provide a capacity of 200,000m3/day at the first stage. Water input source is Dau Tieng Lake-150km upstream and led through a channel system into a 600x800m newly constructed reservoir and from there pumped directly into the filters.

Drinking Water

  • Water source comes in and is pumped to a reservoir with capacity of one million cubic meter
  • Water source settles naturally in 5 days before going to system
  • Process includes influent, filtration, disinfection and distribution
  • In laboratory, water at different treatment steps is analyzed by parameters which have to be followed by their internal criteria and QCVN01:2009/BYT (National technical regulation on drinking water quality).

The challenges faced for this customer, is that there is no further treatment before the water is chlorinated and the water is supplied directly to the city pipeline, client has to ensure that measurements taken were accurate to abide by the nation’s regulation.
